FOX, Robert T. (The Old Blue Bird)
Age 91, of Brookville, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Friendship Village following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Jean & daughter, Patricia Fox. He was a lifelong resident of Brookville, who wrote for the Brookville Star for many years. He worked for Dayton Tire & Rubber, Kimberly Clark & McMaken?s IGA. He was a pitcher on the 1935 Brookville State Championship Baseball Team. He is a member of the Brookville High School Athletic Hall of Fame and the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame. He proudly served his country in the US Navy in the South Pacific during WWII as a radioman. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #3288, Brookville, where he served many years as Chaplain. Bob is survived by daughters, Pam Lance and Peggy (Richard) Denlinger; son, John (Jackie) Fox; grandchildren, Shannon Davidson, Heather Lance, Ricky Lance, Tiffany Denlinger, Amanda Fox & Marah Reeves; 7 great-grandchildren; good friends, Don Boomershine, Pam Hall, Jerry Leiber, Denny Kinsel & Jack McMaken. Bob donated his body to the Wright State School of Medicine. A wake will be held at the Brookville VFW Post, 210 Carr Drive on Sunday, Dec. 14 from 2-4 PM.
