MESSENGER, Cecil W.

Age 81, of Brookville, formerly of Somerset, KY, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic in Avon, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean; parents, Lottie & Arthur Smiley and Charlie Messenger, and grandson, Christopher Messenger. Cecil served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. He enjoyed bowling, softball and fishing. Survived by his fiancé, Donna Thompson; children, June (Michael) Stevens and Charles (Christina) Messenger; grandchildren, Kelly (Heather) Stevens, William (Quinn) Stevens, Ron Stevens and Chelsea (Jarryd) Bridges; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Kegan and Joey; siblings, Howard Messenger and Mary Fuchs; loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, April 24, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday at the funeral home with burial at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens to follow.
