PHILLIPS, Madonna L. (King)

Age 85, of Brookville, Ohio, went to be with The Lord on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Brookhaven Nursing Home surrounded by her family, following a lengthy illness. Donna was born in Dayton, Ohio Feb. 11, 1932 to Aloys and Viona King. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 25 years, Wesley Phillips, and special friend Chelsie Bollinger. Donna retired after many years from the Brookville School System working in the cafeteria. In her retirement years, Donna enjoyed volunteering at Precious Blood Church where she was a member for nearly 60 years, the Brookville Community Theater, and the many activities with the Seniors on the Go. Donna never met a stranger, enjoyed fun times with family and friends, and vacationing at Burt Lake, Michigan. She is survived by her children, Bradley (Cathy) Phillips, Kimberle (Kevin) Nelson both of Brookville and Lisa (Trent) Purcell of Carlyle, IL; grandchildren, Ben, Megan, and Josh Phillips, James, Bethany and Jacob Nelson, Haley and Peyton Purcell; sister, Pat Homan; sister-in-law, Barbara Phillips, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 10:30 am, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Precious Blood Church or Hospice of Dayton.
