GOOD, Mary Lou (Harmon)

Age 89, longtime resident of Brookville, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Pristine of Englewood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland J. Good and parents, Edgar and Nora Harmon. Mary Lou graduated from Brookville High School in 1947. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church and a founding member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW #3288, Brookville. Worked over 45 years as Executive Assistant at Stanhope Products. A supporter of civic projects including the Historical Society and the Brookville Scholarship Fund. She loved cooking, walking, crappie fishing, traveling, music, theater, reading, games, supporting education, cards (with special lifelong friends Oscar and Juanita Hartman), but most of all taking care of, guiding and encouraging her family. Her love made them who they are today. Battled Parkinson’s Disease the last 12 years, but remained as active as possible. Lots of people to thank for her care in her last years. Many good friends. Survived by her children, Deborah L. (Mike) Drake, Michael J. Good and Bradley J. (Michele) Good; sister, Janet (Norman) Hypes; grandchildren, Matthew (Kelli) Brown, Nathan (Aura) Brown, Justin Good, Ashley (Charles) Black, Mallory (Chris) Donohue, Michael Drake and Martin Drake; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral service, officiated by Jennifer Burns, will be held 11 am Fri., Jan. 13, at  the GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE, with interment in Arlington Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Thursday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Brookville Scholarship Fund or Hospice of Dayton.
