ROWE, Ray Herbert

Age 98, of Brookville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at Brookhaven Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy & Lucy Rowe, brothers, Richard, Don & his twin brother Roy. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, serving with the 37th Div. 147th Inf. Regiment and 72nd Battalion; he served in the Pacific campaign, including Guadalcanal, Northern Solomon Is. and the Bismarck Archipelago. He devoted his life to his family and farming in Trotwood and later Brookville. He was also a graduate of Fairview High School. Ray is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary (Cox) Rowe; son, Harold Rowe; daughter, Carolyn (Bob) Sowers; grandchildren, Brian (Michele), Lisa, Brad, Jesse, Josh; great-grandchildren, Isabella Rose, Olivia Rae, Parker and Braden; sister-in-law, Zoa “Sue” Rowe, and numerous other relatives and friends. At Ray’s request, a private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to your favorite charity.
