JONES, Richard C.

Age 85, of Clayton, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2017. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Carl & Florine; brother, Paul and sister, Laurraine Lawhorn “Sis.” He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee. He was also the longtime captain of Clayton Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Hardscrabble Park Board. Richard loved his family, he worked hard, played hard and enjoyed fishing and camping. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan; children, Becky (Bill) Marker, Chris Shields and Julie (Kipp) Cochran; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and sister, Rachel Sue. At the request of the family, no services will be held. If desired, donations may be made out to Hospice of Dayton.
