Ernst, William “Bill”

Age 76, of Union, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital following an extended illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Ernst. Bill has been a long time member of Plainview Open Bible Church. Bill was part of the praise and worship team and spent many of his days there at the church.  He enjoyed building and restoring cars and going to cruise-ins. Along with cars, Bill also had a passion for working with computers, often offering up his knowledge and time to help those around him. Bill was many things, but most of all, he was a loving husband of 53 years, a wonderful father, and wonderful grandfather. He was a man that meant so much to so many and will truly be missed. Bill is survived by his wife, Lorene Ernst; children, Theresa (Scott) Whittaker, Roberta (Joseph) Wallace, Steven (Starla) Ernst; grandchildren, Nathan Whittaker, Lauren Whittaker, Brandon Whittaker, Kaitlyn Ernst, Noah Ernst; sister, Patricia Seer; brothers, Richard Ernst and David Ernst, and numerous other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life service, officiated by Pastor Josh Grimes, will be held Sunday, May 7th at 3pm at Plainview Open Bible Church, 1488 Johnsonville Brookville Rd., Brookville, OH 45309.
