HOOVER, James E. “Jim”
Age 80, of Trotwood, passed away Friday July 2, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. He retired from the USAF in 1970, serving in both Korea & Vietnam. He was a life member of the VFW, American Legion & AMVETS and was a former member of the Wolfcreek Rod & Gun Club. Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Delores; children & their spouses, Mike Hoover, Jeff (Leslie) Hoover, Steven (Joy) Hoover, Jean (Denny) Simmons; grandchildren, Daniel, Amanda, Nicole, Alicia, Michelle, Dylan, Michael, AJ & Dalton; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Elijah & Austin. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5-8 PM Wednesday, July 7 at VFW Post 5018, 4110 Free Pike, Dayton, OH 45416. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Deloris, Jean, Mike, Jeff, and Steven at this time of grief over the loss of Husband and Dad. We were fortunate to have the Hoovers as neighbors in Westbrooke Village for the years that we were there. Mel & Phyllis Repka.

Mrs. Delores and family,
Our family is sending our heartfelt condolence to your entire family. I remember Mr. Jim was the first person I met when I moved into the neighborhood and he greeted me with his strong voice and a warm smile. I will never forget coming home from work and he would be sitting on the porch and I would hear him say "Hi neighbor". May God comfort you and your family at this time and always remember that his spirit will forever live on.
