GALVIN, Robert, Sr.
Age 80 of Clayton, passed away Saturday March 6, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton, following a brief illness. Bob was a 1948 graduate of Roosevelt High School. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He taught & coached baseball in the Dayton Public School system, retiring after 33 years service. He was very proud to have led both Fairview & Patterson to City League Baseball Championships. In his later years, Bob worked for the Community Blood Center. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia; 4 sons, Robert, Jr. (Debbie), Tom (Rhonda), Gary and David; daughter, Connie (John) Smith; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Floyd (Elsie) Norman; sister, Shirley (James) Grace, and numerous other relatives and many special friends. Bob was also a longtime and very active member of the Salem Church of God, where visitation will be held Tues. March 9 from 4 PM until the time of the service, which is 7:00 PM. Pastor Don Jackson will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Wed., March 10, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Dayton.
