Alvin Miller Obituary

MILLER, Alvin Earl

Age 92, of Tipp City, formerly of Englewood, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Upper Valley Medical Center Hospice Unit following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn & Estella (Brademeyer) Miller, by brothers, Orella & Bernard Miller, sisters, Norma Ross & Eileen Myer and by a grandson, Jason Miller. Al began his career as a milkman but soon joined his brother at Miller Electric. He became co-owner of the business, which wired homes and commercial buildings throughout greater Dayton. A devoted family man, Al loved playing games, especially cards. He was a whiz at Pepper, Bridge and Poker. He counted cards with the best of them, kibitzing and winning most of the time. He also spent many years as a Boy Scout leader and he helped to found the Englewood Hills Little League. In his later years, Al was a leader for both Mature Adult Citizens and Shiloh Sportsmen Club. Al is survived by his wife of 74 years, Shirley (Aller) Miller; children, Priscilla Ruemping, Thomas Miller, James Miller, Jill Baker & Jeffrey Miller; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. Due to the pandemic, a family celebration will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are in care of GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT ROAD, BROOKVILLE. E-mail condolences may be sent by going online to www.gilbert-fellers.com
