Dan (the Bud Man) Bailey
66 of Brookville, OH went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 25, 2018. Born in Dayton, OH on March 14, 1951, Dan was the youngest member of the infamous “Bailey Boys” and was preceded in death by father Robert (1979), mother Fairy (2003), brother Ralph “Cobb” Bailey (2007), brother (and husband to Cindy) Harold Bailey (2014) and sister Helen (2013).
Left behind to celebrate his life are his soulmate and wife of 46 years, Candy and his brother, best friend and fishing partner Gary (husband to Sandy, deceased 2010). Left behind to carry-on his legacy and “mojo” are his children; Michelle (wife to Ray), Zachary (husband to Erin) and Amber (wife to Josh). Dan was also the proud Grandfather of Britanee Danielle, Matthew Scott and Liam Ryder. He also had 2 great grandchildren Jase & Kenlee Brown. Diagnosed with cancer in 2000, Dan won a battle most would not have and went on to live a full life until his body succumbed to complications from a recent stroke.
Dan was a proud member of Teamsters Local 957 and retired from Heidelberg Distributing in 2009. An avid outdoorsman, one of Dan’s favorite way to enjoy life was fishing, fishing, and fishing. He also took great pride in his home and spent tireless hours planting and maintaining his flower gardens.
Dan’s wishes were to be cremated and his family plans to return his ashes to the places he created so many memories with those who loved him. The family will host a memorial service to celebrate his life on Saturday, February, 3 at 11:30 am at Gilbert Fellers Funeral Home, 950 Albert Rd., Brookville, OH 45309 and invite everyone to join them in sharing pictures, stories and memories. (Unless you will be out fishing that day, then he’d understand and wish you luck).
