REDMAN, Elsie May

Age 93, of Brookville, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Brookhaven following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph & Don Wastler, by an infant brother  and by a son-in-law, Larry Sortman. Elsie was a member of Brookville Grace Brethren Church. She retired from Dayton Christian Schools as an accountant. She volunteered with the Clay City, KY schools after retirement. She enjoyed gardening, canning and working puzzles. Elsie is survived by her husband of 71 years, Charles. Along with Charles, Elsie was an active Foster parent. She is also survived by foster daughters, Sue Sortman & Marlene Miller; sister-in-law, Margaret Wastler; grandchildren, April Firsdon & Brian Sortman; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Stephen, Katherine, Jonathan, Kendra, Madison & Cassidy & great-great-grandson, Wyatt, along with numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Mon. Aug. 7 at the GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE, with burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg. Visitation is at the funeral home Monday from 10 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Dayton Christian Schools, 9391 Washington Church Rd. Miamisburg, OH 45342.
