WIGLESWORTH, Vickie C. (Hignite)

Age 65, of Brookville,  formerly of Cynthiana, KY, passed away Friday June 1, 2018 following a long battle with dementia and lung cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, James & Della Hignite, by her husband, Richard Slade and by a special cousin, Elizabeth Shufflebarger. Years ago, legendary UK Basketball coach Joe B. Hall hired Vickie to take his mother, Ruth Hall, on errands once she no longer could drive. Vickie said she was “Driving Miss Ruth”. Vickie once asked Mrs. Hall what the “B” stood for in Joe B. Hall – Mrs. Hall said, “Basketball”. Always an avid UK basketball fan, she loved the Big Blue! Vickie is survived by her husband Nathan Wiglesworth and his daughters, Nikki & Becky; brother, Harold (Doris) Hignite; sister, Colleen Kenworthy; nephews, Grant (Jennifer) Kenworthy, Bart (Paola) Kenworthy, Harold David (Lauren) Hignite; nieces, Morgan Marie (Chris) Linville, Britt (Shane) Gasser, Natalie (Matt) Lewis, and numerous other relatives and friends. Think of Vickie with a smile when you use a Post-It, look at puppies, watch UK Basketball, play darts or even her favorite card game, ROOK – which she almost always won. She loved Gerbera Daisies, but in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or do an act of kindness to a friend, neighbor or even a stranger. Special thanks are being given to Drs. Allen, Ambrose, Rasp, Haluschak & Sabagh, and Hospice of Dayton. A Tribute to Vickie will be held 2 PM Sunday June 3 at Community United Methodist Church, 114 Hay Avenue, Brookville, OH 45309. Visitation and services with burial to follow will be held in Cynthiana, KY. Local arrangements are entrusted to the GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE.
