ANATOL (TONY) WOJTOWICZ
Anatol Wojtowicz, known to family and friends as Tony, was born May 30, 1932, in Pinsk, Poland to parents Antoni and Anna Wojtowicz. Tony departed this life on December 30, 2024, at the age of 92.
As an only child, Tony and his parents migrated to the United States from Germany following World War II. The family came to the United States as participants in the displaced persons program. They arrived in New Windsor, Maryland and shortly thereafter settled in Butler Township, Ohio where Tony attended school and graduated from Patterson Co-Op High School.
Following high school and during the Korean War, Tony was drafted into the US Army. After completing his military service, he pursued his education and earned an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from General Motor’s Institute of Technology (GMI) and a master’s degree from the University of Dayton.
Tony had a long and successful career, working with Frigidaire, Monsanto’s Dayton Laboratory, and subsequently retiring from Miamisburg Mound. Following his retirement, Tony taught for several years at Sinclair Community College.
Tony met his wife, Sharon, while working at Monsanto. They loved to vacation together and traveled to all 50 states and several foreign countries. In addition to his love of travel, Tony loved his church, Christian Life Center, where he participated in and led several ministries. One of the ministries that Tony most enjoyed was the World Outreach ministry, where he participated in several hurricane relief trips.
Tony is survived by his wife Sharon, after 51 years of marriage; his daughter Gloria (Leonard) Barnett; grandsons Anthony (Dani) Utz, Nathan Coyle and granddaughter Angela (Phil) Smith; great-granddaughter, Madison Smith.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held Monday, January 13, 2025, at Christian Life Center, 3489 Little York Rd, Dayton, Ohio. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15a.m. with funeral services commencing at 10:15 a.m.
Burial immediately following service at Memorial Park Cemetery, Butler Township, Ohio.
