AUSRA, Berta M. (nee. Mueller)
Age 87, of Brookville, passed away at Hospice of Dayton on Sunday, February 4, 2024. Berta was born in Leibenstadt, Germany on March 10, 1936. She immigrated to the United States with her sister Martha when they were both in their teens, to live with family already here. She met her future husband, Alex at the German club dance in the 1960’s. They dated for about a year and were married. She worked at Rike’s department store in Dayton, and later at Standard Abrasives in Brookville. She is proceeded in death by husband, Alex Ausra who passed away in 2012; parents, Henry and Elisabeth Mueller; brothers, Karl, Henry, Rudolf, and George Mueller; sisters, Martha Frashetti, Anna Manherz, Gertrud Mueller, and Christa Petru. She is survived by her son, Michael Ausra, Brookville, OH; granddaughter, Emily Ausra, Carlisle, OH; niece, Darlene Boyd, Springboro, PA; great-niece, Jamie Boyd, South Korea; great-nephew, John Paul Boyd, Mill Creek, PA; nephews, Karl Ausra, Streetsboro, OH and Karl Mueller, Mt. Healthy, OH. Berta was a member of Community United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her 30 plus in the choir, bell choir, and Liederkranz – Turner Society. She loved to knit and was a member of the church group who made items for expectant moms, cancer patients, etc., like mittens, blankets and hats. She spent a lot of time readying, especially historical novels. She was great at puzzles such as sudoku and crosswords. Services are pending at this time, please check back for updates.
