McFarland, Billy

Age 90, of Brookville, OH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at his home, on December 30, 2024. He was born on January 31, 1934 in Valley Creek, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mellove McFarland; parents, Walter and Burnice McFarland; brother, Bobby McFarland; daughters, Tambra Coffman and Patricia McFarland. Bill enlisted in the Navy in 1952 and was a veteran of the Korean War as a Seaman-SN. He retired from Inland-General Motors Corporation. Bill was a Kentucky Wildcats fan and basketball was his favorite sport to watch. He also was an avid poker player and loved playing cards. He always had his bag of change and ready to take your money. Bill had many titles: Son, Brother, Husband, Dad, Uncle, Papaw, And Friend. Family was the center of his life and meant the world to him. He showed his love for his family by always being there and setting the bar high on being a mentor and good example on how to work hard and provide for generations to come. Bill is survived by his daughters, Sherry Doles and Billie Jo Cartwright (Neil); grandchildren, Brandy Hatmaker, Jeremy Doles, Leandra Fisher (Chris), Jerica Fisher (Joey), Josh Doles, Brittany McMahon (Scott), Jordyn Green (Matt), Drew Cartwright and 12 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 4th at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE.
