Blaine K Goin Obituary
Age 84, of Brookville, was born on September 22, 1940 to the late Leon & Marie (Maddox) Goin. Blaine was also preceded in death by his wife, Lydia (Sander) Goin; brothers, Donald Eugene, Wayne, Richard; in-laws, Crystal and Friedel. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and went on to join the Army. Blaine spent 30 years in the Army and retired as Command Seargent Major. He went on to work as a defense contractor in Ukraine, Romania, Belarus, Poland, Moldova, and Slovakia for close to ten years. He loved his job teaching tactical war fighting to our allies. He lived in Germany for nearly 60 years, with the last 40 in the small town of Rutsweiler, until his wife Lydia passed away in March of 2023. Then he moved back to the states and bought his brother Wayne’s old house in Brookville. He met many people and loved living in Brookville. He enjoyed his daily breakfast at the Brookville Grille. He loved the Grille, going to the dollar store, Fox Dry Cleaner’s and McMaken’s IGA. He is survived by daughters, Donna (Uwe) Cappel of Germany, Debbie (Jeff) Wynk of Miamisburg; grandchildren, Blaine and Drew Wynk, Michelle Weitor and Kevin Cappel; great-grandchild, Luca; brother, Dane; in-laws, Gerd, Gertrude and Ulla; nieces and nephews, Marie, Janet, Bob, Jimmy, Mike, Doug, and Andrea as well as several nieces and nephews in Germany; many friends throughout the world that he met in the Army and while contracting in other countries. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18th at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Dayton in Blaine’s name. He was under their care for 18 months.
