Charles A. Lermond Obituary

Age 98, of Brookville, passed away on September 29, 2025. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lermond; sister, Mary (Robert) Turner and daughter, Nancy Edgar.

 Charles graduated from MIT with a master’s degree in chemistry. He served as a medic in the army during WWII. He was also an accomplished weaver. He had a school of weaving, published articles in magazines and made countless wall hangings over the years. Singing was another passion of his. He joined every musical he could when he lived near Oberlin College and sang opera with his son, Kent. Charles would travel the country to universities in order to assist with Cochlear Implant Research. He was a very sociable man who loved any chance he had to speak with people.

He is survived by his son, Kent (Ginny) Lermond; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8th at First United Methodist Church, Brookville. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
