Connie Crabtree Obituary

CRABTREE, Connie Sue

Age 77, of Brookville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 after having a stroke on March 7. Connie was born in Maysville, Kentucky, the only daughter of the late Forest and Alyene Carpenter. Connie grew up in New Lebanon just down the road from Roger. They both graduated from Dixie High School together and married in 1967. She was content with her role of wife and mother, making her home a desired place to be. Connie had a servants heart and the gift of kindness. She used her creative skills to plan many parties and events, including coordinating many weddings for friends. Being a farm wife, Connie brought many meals to the field for Roger and the “baling boys”. Once her children were grown Connie began working in the office for Gilman Aircraft Sales. Connie became a grandma for the first time in 1995 and again every couple years through 2020. Her 15 grandchildren were her world. She enjoyed teaching her granddaughters to sew and scrapbook and she made sure her grandsons always loved coming to the farm to be spoiled by her. She was their biggest fan at every sporting event they were in.
Connie is survived by her loving spouse of 55 years Roger Crabtree, her children, Aimee and Adam Pietrzak, Amber and Dusty Layman and Aaron and Marcy (Montgomery) Crabtree. Her grandchildren, Jackson Pietrzak, Preston and Karysta (Walls) Pietrzak, Micah and Lillian Rolle, Evelyn Pietrzak, Christian and Maegann (Hackworth) Layman, Atley and Trinity King, Israel and Faith (Mansfield) Layman, Hosanna, Shepherd, Truett, Honor, Eden and Judah Layman, and Cole and Haley Crabtree. Great-grandchildren, Felix Layman and Aurora Pietrzak. Connie was looking forward to the arrival of two more great-grandchildren.
A public visitation will be held at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD. BROOKVILLE on Wednesday, March 15, 3-7pm. Funeral service will be at Gilbert-Fellers on Thursday, March 16, at 11am. Burial will follow at Trissel Cemetery, New Lebanon, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please donate to either the Alzheimer’s Association or the North Valley Baptist Church, Brookville.
Connie loved the Lord and enjoyed the fellowship of many church families through the years. She was currently attending North Valley Baptist Church in Brookville.
Connie was a victim of dementia for the last 4 years, and though her memory was slipping, she had a child-like joy. Though she will be missed tremendously, we rejoice that her mind is fully restored as she walks with Jesus.  E-mail condolences may be sent by going online to www.gilbert-fellers.com
