FLORY, Darrell Sr.

Age 34,450 days, of Brookville, OH passed away at home following an extended illness on Saturday, December 28, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Thelma Flory and two sisters. Darrell was a longtime active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served with the U.S. Coastguard. He worked for many years at NCR and was a realtor for 32 years with B.E.I. He was also a collector of Indian artifacts, an avid gardener and loved to hunt for mushrooms. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Barbara Flory; children, De-De (Gregg) Heeter, Becky Ortiz, and Darrell Flory Jr.; grandchildren, Marissa Heeter, Lauren (Wendall) Krahn, Harrison (Kylie) Ortiz, Alex Ortiz, and Erica Flory; seven great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Brookville. Interment services to follow in Arlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church, or the Brookville Historical Society.
