COONEY, David L.

Age 72, of Huber Heights, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 20, 2024. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas & Lois Cooney; siblings, Pam Dalzall & Doug Cooney. David served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He went on to work at Standard Register for 27 years. He also worked at the YMCA. Since 2012, he found great fulfillment working with people with disabilities as part of the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services. For many years, he enjoyed camping and coaching kids sports. He attended Christian Life Center since 1988. David is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sandy; daughter, Michelle (Nate) Kincaid; son, Jeff (Tatiana) Cooney; grandchildren, his pride and joy, Hailey, Kelsey, and Aubrey Kincaid; Hayden, Lydia, Hudson, and Emma Cooney; brothers, Ron and Phil Cooney; sister-in-law, Carol Gravelle; brothers-in-law, Roger (Roxie) Bowyer, Mark (Cathy) Bowyer, and Gary (Teresa) Bowyer; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24th at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE, OH 45309. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Royal Oak Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services.
