MAISH, DAVID
David (Dave) W. Maish, 73, of Brookville, passed away at his home on Friday July 21st, 2023. Dave was born in Richmond, Indiana on November 4th, 1949, and grew up in New Paris, Ohio. He lived in Brookville, Ohio since 1991 and worked at Southeast Tool & Die for over 20 years. Dave enjoyed watching Nascar, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Green Bay Packers, working on his many collections, and spending time in the Smokey Mountains with his wife, Jan. Dave was drafted into the US Army in 1969 where he served with the 359th Transportation Battalion in the 4th Infantry Division serving in Vietnam from January 1970 to December 1971. After his time in Vietnam, Dave served in the US Navy. After finishing his active duty, he joined the Indiana National Guard for 8 years. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Josephine, his brother John, his wives Vicki and Jan, his daughter-in-law Kim, and his children Michael and Martell. He is survived by his sisters Patricia, Barbara, and Cindy, and brother Morton, his children and stepchildren Monte Maish, Julie Maxel, Christopher (Brian) Fowler, Jenny (Jerry) Thompson, Susie (Brett) Sobol, and Katie Woolery. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Dave always had a smile on his face and a good story to tell. He was family to some, and a friend to everyone. Dave was one-of-a-kind and will be greatly missed by many. A private memorial service with military honors will be held for Dave at Dayton VA Cemetery for family and close friends.
