HEMMERICH, Elmo
Age 87, formerly of Brookville, of Vandalia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry & Daisy; brothers, Joyce, Don & Johnny; sister, Olis; grandson, Neil Lindsey; great-grandson, Alex Rhoads. He retired after 40 years of service with Fryman & Kuck Construction. He will always be remembered for his skill as a carpenter and a love and passion for his craft. He was a longtime member of Brookville Grace Brethren Church, serving faithfully as a trustee. His greatest legacy, however, is that he and his wife Dorothy gave his children the building blocks of faith, based upon the foundation of Jesus Christ. Elmo is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy; sons, Larry, Wayne & Dan (Elaine); daughters, Elaine (Mick) Hitchcock & Linda (Jim) Ingels; grandchildren, Preston Hemmerich, Lauren Hemmerich, Rachel (Ryan) Sherwood, Nathan Rhoads, Chad (Mindy) Lindsey, Ryan (Alisha) Lindsey, Shane (Brooke) Hemmerich, Shawn (Payton) Hemmerich, Chelsea (Chris) Jones; 14 great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren; a brother, Ronny & sister, Nancy Loughman, along with numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thu. May 24 at Brookville Grace Brethren Church, 665 Westbrook Rd. Brookville, OH 45309, with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Ithaca Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Wed. May 23 at the GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE.
