Gary Bowman Obituary

Age 93, of Brookville, passed away on January 11, 2026. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Garrett and Helen Bowman; sister, Colette Hall and brother, David Alan Bowman. Gary served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war. He spent time stationed in Germany, Oakland, San Diego and Washington D.C. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and gunsmithing. He loved to spend time with his family on camping and boating trips. He was also a longtime member of Brookville Church of the Brethren. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Shirley Bowman; children, Cliff (Diane) Bowman, Kim (Stephanie) Bowman and Lisa (Ron) Leonard; grandchildren, Emily (Aaron) Hilf, Michael (Kayla) Bowman, Garrett Bowman, Karina Bowman, Deanna Bowman, Sydney Bowman, Danielle Bowman, Reba (Dan) Klepper, Levi (Jessica) Leonard, and Ethan Leonard; great-grandchildren, MJ, Jesiah, Micah, Clara, and Lukas. A celebration of life will be held at Brookville Church of the Brethren at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4th with food and fellowship immediately following the services at the Leiber Center in Golden Gate Park, Brookville.
