LOCHTEFELD, Geneva "Dottie" (Benner)
Age 94, of Brookville, formerly of Celina and Lewisburg, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022. Dottie was born in Louisiana to the late John & Rose King. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arnold “Pud” Benner’ second husband, Robert “Butch” Lochtefeld; six siblings; son, Ed Benner in 1987. Dottie retired from Ohio Plate and Glass. Longtime member of Visitation Church, Eaton. She taught reading to adults at the Richmond YMCA. She also enjoyed her silver sneakers class at the Eaton YMCA. She was a lifetime member of the Brookville VFW, loved line dancing, and was a member of the Red Hats. She was full of laughter, friendly, and outgoing. She loved whenever her great-grandchildren, or grandchildren visited. Survived by her children, Alicia (Doug) Newbauer, John (Ann) Benner, Kathy Dafler, Deborah Sodders, David Benner; grandchildren, Tanya, Steve, Michael, Wade, Tara, Angela, Shaun, Danielle, Tommy, John, and Dakota; 14 great-grandchildren; special friend and sister-in-law, Dollie Russell and her daughter, Sandy; special friends, Rosie & Bob Lochtefeld, and Bill & Barb Walls. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29th at GILBERT-FELERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD. BROOKVILLE. Memorial services to follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, The Brookville Fire Department, or the American Lung Association, Miami Valley.
