Dick is a United States Marine and worked for 41 years at Graphics System Services (previously Schriber Company, Harris Graphics, and AM Graphics). He loved to garden and enjoyed landscaping and garden tours as a member of the Miami Valley Hosta Club. He was a Bible scholar, earning an honorary degree at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem upon an eventful trip to Israel. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School and loved his classmates. He served as an intercessory prayer warrior along with Naomi LeValley, praying for a hedge of protection over family, friends, The Bride of Christ, Salem Church of God, and the lost to be saved. He loved being a Dad, coaching softball and soccer as well as traveling to watch cross country and track meets. He loved being a Grandpa and spending as much time as possible with all his grandchildren. He devoted much time to the Salt and Light Traveling Theater acting in dramas to help spread the Gospel and promote spiritual growth in others. He loved his neighbors and felt so blessed by the care and love they showed to him when he needed it the most. As the cornerstone of the family, he was always on call for his parents, sisters, daughters, family, and friends to provide timely advice, pray over them, and help them in time of need. He was a really cool Dad, tolerating Legos spread out across the living room floor, going to see Star Wars for the 20th time, and leaving church early to go to Kings Island. He loved spoiling his grandkids, reading stories, unleashing tickle bugs, watching Shaun the Sheep, fishing for diapers, and hunting. He was a skilled wood carver and artist. He loved antiquing and studying genealogy as well as traveling to watch his granddaughters perform in plays. He was an avid The Ohio State Buckeyes fan and prayed for all the players, coaches, and their families. He enjoyed investing into the lives of family and friends. As he deeply loved, he is loved by his family, friends, and His Jesus! He awaits us in Glory! “Good people pass away; the Godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die.” Isaiah 57: 1-2
“... If the Army and the Navy Ever look on Heaven’s scenes, They will find the streets are guarded By United States Marines.” The Marine’s Hymn. SEMPER FIDELIS (Always Faithful)!
