James F. Ingels Obituary
Age 76, of Vandalia, passed away peacefully at his home on December 4th, 2025, following a lengthy illness. James was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Ingels and Margaret (Gordon) Penney; sons, Eric Ingels and Neil Lindsey; siblings, Barbara Carrico, Joe Ingels, Maralee Richardson, and Kathleen Heffner; father-in-law, Elmo Hemmerich. James was a proud graduate of Troy High School in 1967. He showed his strong work ethic and loyalty during his 37 years as a general foreman at GM. After retirement he enjoyed his free time working at local golf courses. He enjoyed golf, boating, camping, had a love of cars, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. He was a selfless and supportive man who shared his foundation of faith through his actions. He walked faithfully with God and met every challenge with courage and resilience. His quiet strength, steadfast integrity, and unwavering devotion made his life a beautiful example of what it means to live by faith. James is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda Ingels; daughter, Michelle (Andy) Arnold, their children, Jake Kenworthy, Aubrey Arnold, Jessica (Tom) Mcelroy, and their children, Jameson, Theo, and Graysen; sons, Chad (Mindy) Lindsey, and their children, Gabe and Ellie; and Ryan (Alisha) Lindsey, and their children, Noah and Marcus. A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Crestview Baptist Church, Clayton. Memorial services, officiated by pastor Tim Cain, will follow at 11:00 a.m. and are open to friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Neil Lindsey Scholarship Fund through Brookville High School or to Crestview Baptist Church.
