PIPER, James “Jim”

Age 73, of Brookville, passed away on June 16, 2025. Jim was preceded in death by his father, James M. Piper and mother, Doris E. Piper. Jim moved to Ohio with his family as a child. He proudly became a part of the Brookville High School Class of 1971. In 1972, he began a career with GTE, dedicating 34 years to the company before retiring. Even then, his commitment didn’t waver – he continued working as a contractor for an additional 10 years. He took great pride in his work. He cherished the time he spent riding his Honda Goldwing and found joy in watching his grandsons grow up, sharing special moments with them along the way. He found joy in hands-on projects around the home. Whether tinkering in his garage, mowing the lawn on his beloved John Deere tractor, or tending to his yard, he embraced each task with enthusiasm. Time spent with family and friends brought him happiness, and his sharp, witty sense of humor always made those moments more memorable. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Teresa (Raybourn) Piper; daughter, Marie (Piper) Jackson; son, J.B. Piper; grandsons, Cole Jackson, Zack Piper (Ally White); great-grandson, Wyatt Piper; siblings, Jean (Piper) and husband Patrick Reusch, Don (Janet) Piper, Bill Piper, Denny (Marcia) Piper; sister-in-law, Sharon (Raybourn) Bowman; nephew, Sam (Jackie) Raybourn; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23rd at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with interment services to follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens.
