SEIBEL, Joan J.

Age 88, of Lewisburg, Ohio passed away on December 27, 2023. Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Merlin; siblings, Harley (Carol) Shumaker, Marjorie (Raymond) Wachtmann, Bill (Mona) Shumaker; son-in-law, Tim Olinger; parents, Gale Jim Shumaker and Jessie Shumaker-Cocke. Joan loved to read, garden, and work in the yard. She was a hard worker, even when she was sick there was time and energy to help run the farm. She was an active council member of the Farm Bureau. After raising her six children, she worked at Gayston for two years, had a job at Speedway, Brookville, and later retired from Parker Hannifin, Eaton, where she was an inspector. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Jo Seibel, Larry (Jan) Seibel, Sherri (Ron) Newman, Lori Olinger, Illona (Jack) Florkey, Kelly (Al) Robertson; grandchildren, Kimberly, Melissa, and Randall (Carolyn) Olinger, Tanya (Corey) Howe, David (Jamie) Seibel, Sarah (James) Dulhanty, Shelly (Chris) Allen; nine, great-grandchildren; brothers, Art (Linda) Shumaker, and Hal (Marilyn) Shumaker. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4th at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE, OH 45309. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 5th at First United Methodist Church, 963 Salem St. Brookville, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Heart Association.
