HAMILTON, John

John “Jack” Hamilton, 94, joyously left to be with the Lord on May 17, 2024.  He grew up in Farmington, Connecticut, where he played several sports in high school and always seemed to land the romantic lead in his high school plays.  After joining the Air Force, he met his wife-to-be, Emily, at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi.  Jack and Emily were married for 61 years. Known to his family as Dad, Pops, Papa, or Great Papa, Jack is survived by his daughter Holly Bricker (Mark); son Thomas Hamilton; four grandsons Cole (Jessica), Lee (LeAnna), Luke (Sarah), and Tide; and five great-grandchildren.  Jack is preceded in death by his wife Emily (Pavlic) Hamilton; his oldest son, John S. Hamilton, II; his parents William and Anna (Houseman) Hamilton; and sisters Barbara Hamilton Richards and Anna May Stiles. Jack retired as a Captain in the United States Air Force and as a mechanical engineer/technical writer from the Raytheon Company. Jack and Emily built their dream home in Maine on 185 acres where they entertained family and friends for many years.  He was strong in his faith and loved to read, cook, watch golf, and was always up for going out to eat.  His charismatic words and authentic smile always left a warm impression on recipients. A Celebration of His Life will take place in Maine later this year and any memorial donations can be made to Young Life, P.O.
