Joseph Mercurio Obituary

MERCURIO, Joseph

Age 92, of Brookville, passed away on June 15, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Mercurio (nee. Boehringer); two brothers and two sisters. Survived by his daughter, Melissa (Fiancé Matthew Garton) Mercurio; grandson, Phillip (Fiancé Camille Wood) Mercurio; great-grandchildren, Aelfwynn, Carmen. Joe was a hardworking truck driver who traveled cross country to take care of his family. He was known around town as “the whistler” for his ability to recreate any tune loud enough to be heard across town. He was not able to join military because of heart problem, but that didn’t stop him from being extremely patriotic. He liked to decorate with flags everywhere to show his love of this country. If you were able to break through his gruff exterior, you would find a heart of gold. Funeral services for Joseph will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 25 at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 25th at the funeral home. Interment to follow services in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
