STEVENSON, Lori

Age 51, of Brookville, passed away on August 8, 2023. Lori was born on December 21st 1971 at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, OH. As the youngest daughter, Lori (Halley) was born into a lovely family. Mother Phyllis Ann; father, Francis Lee; sisters, Barb & Sandy. Growing up Lori bounced between two homes, one in Pyrmont & the other “down at the hills” in Crown City, OH. Her family home in Southern Ohio is where her heart belonged. Sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds down at the creek, collecting rocks, Lori truly loved that place with her whole heart. Though she loved the hills, Lori mainly grew up here in Brookville, attending Brookville Local Schools until graduating in 1991. In 1992 Lori met the love of her life, Jack. They married in 1994, making her Lori Stevenson. In 1995, at the age of 23, Lori gave birth to her first beautiful child, Edward Delane Stevenson “Lane”. Then in 2002 Jack & Lori completed their lovely family with Bonnie Ann Stevenson. Lori dedicated her life to her family, working between Brookhaven, babysitting, & Henny Penny, Lori would work all day just to come home and continue to provide for her children. Lori didn’t ask for much, her favorite things were her children, the beach, watching HGTV, thrifting, her puppy dog, Bandit & her home down in southern Ohio. All of the small things in life made her smile or laugh, you could always find her with one. As her family grew, she spent her days at the ball fields, always supporting in any way she could. Any way she could spend time with her family she took advantage of. Coming with us to Kings Island, even though she never rode, she would “People watch” while we waited in line for hours, holding our stuff. Just a pure heart is the best way to explain her. Towards the end during those four long months in the hospital, Lori came out stronger than anyone we have ever met. Never losing her beautiful smile, Lori touched many lives, making so many new friends! Lori fought until the very end, passing peacefully in the hands of her loved ones. The pain Lori suffered through for so long is finally over, she can now rest peacefully down at the hills where she belongs. Swinging on the porch swings watching the birds. Lori is now resting comfortably watching over her beautiful family. She will be missed dearly but she deserves the peace she had been given. Love you mama, mom, hunny, sis, & Laura Lee. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12 at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, Brookville. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with interment to follow in Old Mercerville Cemetery, Crown City, OH 45623. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of Dayton, or the Kettering Health Cancer Center.
