Margaret Kathleen (Anderson) Diehl Obituary

Margaret Kathleen Diehl. age 92 died March 18, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Dorothy Anderson, her older sister Doris Clark and David Diehl, her loving husband of 58 years. Margaret is survived by her brother, Will of Brookville, IN and her five children: son Scott, daughter Cathy (spouse Jeff Stose), son Andrew (spouse Darlene), son Neil (spouse Lori), and son Travis (fiancée Marie). Four grandchildren- Jacob Stose (spouse Rachel), Kaitlyn Stose, Julianna Diehl, Heather Diehl, One great grandson on the way in April. Margaret graduated from high school in Brookville IN in 1960 and after graduation in the fall followed her sister to Cincinnati. She took a job at the Prudential Insurance Company on the 45th floor of the Carew Tower and walked 10 city blocks to work and back from the Anna Louise Inn, which was a residence for young unmarried women. She was dating a young man from high school named Ed who was living at the YMCA in Cincinnati. Ed had a roommate David Diehl. One day, Margaret and Ed had a fight and soon after David called her for a date. For their first date, they walked to Big Boy (Frisch's) for a burger and fries, and it was love at first sight. Three years later, they were married on June 15, 1963, in Brookville, IN and relocated to Springdale, OH. In 1969, they moved from Springdale to Brookville and built a house on David's part of the original Diehl homestead in Perry township where they lived their entire lives. She was a member of Eversole Church of the Brethren and established many close friendships. Margaret was a stay-at-home mom for many years. Once the children were older, she worked in patient registration and medical billing at both St Elizabeth Medical Center and Grandview Hospital. She retired in 2000 and fought a successful battle with breast cancer soon after During retirement, she had many hobbies including cooking, gardening, puzzles and music. She learned to play the dulcimer and was a member of many local dulcimer clubs and has many close friends from the Hammer Jammers group. Margaret was greatly loved and will be missed

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29th at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, BROOKVILLE. Funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment services will be held in Bear Creek Cemetery, Trotwood.
