Peggy grew up in Brookville, Ohio with her father Wilbur and her three sisters.  Her mother passed when she was two years old which made her family situation unique.  Her father Wilbur owned the local barber shop which she and her sisters frequented often.  Peggy had a tough act to follow with her three older sisters but managed by becoming Brookville High School’s Drum Majorette.  Her nephew Joe, was always proud to see her strutting down the football field, leading the Brookville Marching Band.

The sisters were close their entire lives and were frequently together not only on holidays but on weekend and vacations. They would sit together and laugh for hours.  Subsequently, their children are all still very close and miss those times.

Peggy knew Bernie her whole life and told stories about walking past the Gadd house and Mr. Gadd talking to her.  She always told us how kind Mr. and Mrs. Gadd were to her.  As Peggy grew into a beautiful young woman, Bernie took notice that she wasn’t that little girl in pigtails down the street.  He then wooed her and they were married in Brookville and soon started their family.

Bernie and Peggy, along with Andy, moved to West Bloomfield, Michigan in 1981 to pursue their careers. They settled in Farmington Hills.  Jenny and Jon followed them to Michigan after they were married in 1985.  Peggy worked and retired from General Motors.  After Bernie passed in 2001, Peggy moved to Milford, MI several years later to be closer to Jenny and Jon and their family.  She loved Milford and frequently reminded us that it reminded her of Brookville. She loved to take classes at the local YMCA, have lunch with friends and visit with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Peggy will be remembered as having a wicked sense of humor and as a loving mother and grandmother.  She will be missed.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
