HANSEL, Rodger G.
Age 65, of Brookville, died Saturday, December 4, from complications related to COVID. Rodger was born in Dayton, Ohio on February 1, 1956, and grew up in Kettering, Dayton, and Englewood. He was the younger son of the late Vaughn and Mary Lou Hansel. Rodger is survived by his loving wife and soulmate Cheryl Hansel; children, Ryan, Elizabeth, and Christopher; Cheryl's daughter, Andrea; older brother, Robert (Lisa Robinson) Hansel and their children Robin and Jason; grandchildren, Isaiah Hansel, Bailey Williamson, Violette Hansel, Mariyah Waitukaitis, and Anthony Wurst. He spent many happy hours visiting with his grandchildren. Rodger was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and nature photography. He was a highly skilled carpenter who took great care and pride in his work and earned an "Installer of the Year" award from Lowes. Rodger loved animals and always had dogs and cats as pets. He most enjoyed taking his dogs for long daily walks on the rail-trail near his home. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. Rodger will be interred at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens. Donations in his memory may be made to the ASPCA or your local animal shelter.
