Ruth Francis (Rollins) Jordan Obituary
In Loving Memory of Ruth Francis Jordan, born September 25, 1942, Ruth was unexpectedly called home to Heaven on Christmas Day. She is now reunited with her beloved parents, Evelyn and Frank Rollins; her brother, Charles; and her beloved babies, Amy and her little boy. Ruth is survived by her devoted husband of sixty-three years, Danny Jordan. She leaves behind her loving children: Lynne Jordan Gump, Daniel (Julie) Jordan, and John (Denise) Jordan. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Derrick, Tyler, and Jordan Gump; Daniel, Blake, and Dalton Jordan; and John and Amy Jordan—as well as her great-grandchildren: Sophie, Joey, Heaven, Naomi, and Layla. Ruth was a dear friend and a “mother” to many, touching countless lives with her kindness and generosity.
After earning her Teacher’s Certificate from Miami University, Ruth enjoyed a fulfilling time as a teacher. Later, after raising her young children, she transitioned to the Underwriting department at Metropolitan Insurance, where she was known as a respected co-worker and a loyal employee. A devoted Christian, Ruth was deeply committed to her community. She served as an educational leader and Stephen Minister at Providence Lutheran Church. Her faith and compassion were evident in all she did.
Ruth enjoyed her country life, gardening, growing her own produce, raising chickens, and keeping a variety of livestock over the years. She loved hosting the annual hayride, bringing together adults and children from all walks of life, forging new friendships and fostering an appreciation for farm life. Ruth found joy in camping and exploring nature with her family, sharing her love of the ocean, travel, and road-trip games. She was an avid crafter, skilled in sewing and needlepointing, and created many wonderful works. A passionate reader, she inspired her family to love books. Ruth was also a horse owner who enjoyed riding and, most recently, driving her beloved “Missy.” She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
