Shirley A. Keener

Age 91, of Brookville, passed away on March 30, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Maurice Keener; son, Todd Keener; grandson, Ryan Keener; parents, Delbert and Edna Shell; siblings, Mary Louise Clayton, Randy Shell and David Shell. A devoted woman of God, Shirley was a longtime and faithful member of Providence Lutheran Church. Her life was a testament to her strong faith in the Lord. Shirley had a profound love for music and was a gifted multi-instrumentalist. She was most known for her talent with the accordion, often sharing her gift to brighten the lives of others. Beyond her music, she was a loving mother who found deep joy in homemaking and crafts, creating a warm and creative home for her family. She is survived by her children, Steve (Sally), Darrell (Chris), Doug (Tonya) and Sharon (Chuck) Prater; sisters, Rrenda (Ernie) Gebhart and Beverly Howard; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Erica and the staff of Just Like Home Elderly Care and Everhart Hospice. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10th at GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, with interment services to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Brookville.
