Terry "Buck" Reese Buchanan

Dateline:  MOUNT HOLLY, NC

            With the wind in his hair, Buck Buchanan has rode off to be with the Lord.  His final ride was on Monday, July 5, 2021.  Mr. Terry “Buck” Reese Buchanan, 56, of Mount Holly, was born February 21, 1965 in McDowell Co., NC, a son of the late Buster and Janice Buchanan.

            Buck earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Appalachian State University and retired as a police officer with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department with 30 years of service to the community.  He then became an officer with Belmont Abbey College which he was enjoying.  Buck loved to ride motorcycles, riding with his brothers in the RENEGADE PIGS, to travel, to have fun, and doing his podcast, “Bourbon and Badges”.  He was devoted to his family and is dearly missed by many who knew him.

            Buck is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rhonda Holderman-Buchanan; children, T.J. Buchanan; Taylor Buchanan, both of Marion, NC; Shawn Holderman and wife Elizabeth of Brookville, OH and their children, Shawn Holderman, Jr., Sophia Holderman and Harper Holderman, with a new grandchild due in four weeks; grandchildren, Mercede, Ravage, and Diana; brother, Chris Buchanan and wife Annabelle of Marion, NC; Karen Buchanan of North Cove, NC; nieces and nephews.

            A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 1:00pm to 2:45pm at City Church (formerly Bethlehem Baptist, 3100 City Church St., Gastonia, NC 28056).  A funeral service will follow at 3:00pm with Pastor Mark Gillming officiating.  Interment will be held at 10:00am, on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Brookville, OH.
