STEPHENS, Wilma J.
Age 93, of Brookville, formerly of Clayton, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, at Brookhaven. Nursing Center following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard E. Stephens (2005), by her parents Raney Newton and Beulah (McGuire) Montgomery, by a brother, Drexel Montgomery, & by a sister, Lillian Montgomery Post. Wilma was born in Ezel, KY & was a 1946 graduate of Eaton High School. She and Leonard were married for fifty-eight years. Wilma was a devoted wife and mother and a member of the Clayton United Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir with Leonard. She retired from the staff of Northmont School Food Services. After 30 years of dedicated service. Wilma enjoyed square dancing and sewing among many other activities. She is survived by sons & daughters-in-law, Doug & Vicki of Cary NC, Bruce & Cathy of Clayton, son Ted of Lewisburg; daughter & son-in-law, Kay & Dave Beegle of Smyrna, GA; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Ruth & Tony Sayre of Winchester, IN; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and nieces & nephews. Friends may call at the GILBERT-FELLERS FUNERAL HOME, 950 ALBERT RD., BROOKVILLE, 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 17 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Funeral services 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in Clayton Cemetery.
